Goodbye Music, Hello Photos.

untitled-28-8.jpg

For the past few months I've been slimming down my musical instrument collection and swapping it for photography gear. This past week was a pretty big 'trade' in that department. I've had a very nice Marshall half stack amplifier sitting in my living room for quite a while. I used it to play some gigs that we had when I was in a band. It was great fun and very sentimental to me... but I realized it wasn't much more than that. So I sold it last week.

One piece of gear that I have been really trying to find a way to get a hold of was the Canon 70-200 EF 2.8 L IS II USM lens. This lens is what I see many photographers use as a staple in their arsenal of gear. I saw this one pop up on Craigslist for a pretty good deal. Since I had just sold my Marshall amp, I had the funds available to go ahead with this critical purchase. The seller was located in Paradise, Ca (about an hour and a half drive from me). I made him an offer and asked if we could meet half way in the town of Yuba City, Ca. He agreed... and now I'm sitting here with this lens on my desk! I'm really excited to run this lens through its paces.

Time for some photographs!
