Sacramento Kings Season Opener.

It's been pretty slow for me photography-wise these past couple months, but things are about to kick into high gear with the upcoming Sacramento Kings NBA season. I'll be out at the arena a lot taking a ton of photos. Tonight was the season opener and I brought my trusty Canon 5D mark iii to shoot with. As usual, I carried my dependable Sony Nex-5 as a back-up camera.

Here's the location I had on the floor. It was right next to the visiting Golden State Warriors bench. There's not too much closer you can get to the action! In fact, the action came almost crashing into me a couple of times!

The introduction of the players is always a time to get the fans and players pumped up. It's one of my favorite times in the entire game. The people who organize and put on the production are top notch in every way possible.

The Kings shot into the basket closest to me in the second half. I was pretty happy with the close action shots I was able to get. I felt humbled sitting next to a USA Today photography nxt to me who had a giant camera snapping of many, many, frames per second. Maybe one day I'll be at that level too!

One of my main goals is to get more photos of the Sacramento Kings Dancers this year. This was probably my favorite shot of them from the game. There will be lots more to come!
