Concert Photos of the Cassette Idols.

This past week I was hired to shoot a local Sacramento band called the Cassette Idols at the Starlite Lounge in downtown Sacramento. Jenn and I go to quite a few concerts in the area, but this was the first time we've ever been to the Starlite. I've got to say I was very impressed with the venue! It has a very retro vibe with a lot of sweet things around the venue. It's a must-see place for sure!

Here's the bill for the show - it looks great! I'm a huge fan of music art, and the posters used to advertise always feature great pop art.

I was really thankful that Jenn came with me to this shoot. She was using the Sony mirrorless cameras like a champ getting shots that would have been difficult with a traditional DSLR.

It was sweet to see a pretty decent crowd in the house for this show. They were definitely ready to listen to some rockin' music from all the bands performing that night.

Here's one of the detail shots that Jenn took. Most bands have something like this tapped to the floor to remind them of what songs they are doing and in what order.

This is Jarviss, the bass player and the person who hired me for this shoot. He's super cool and chill. It's awesome that he's putting in the money to get quality shots of his band. He also got two videographers to capture the shot as well!

The lead singer's name is Art and he also plays the electric guitar. I tried to capture as many unique angles of him and the rest of the band as possible.

Kevin was on drums and was the most difficult to get good photos of. Reaching him at the back of the stage was a challenge.

It was so much fun to get a concert shoot in this week. I'm excited to do some more of these! If you're in or know of any local bands looking for photography, please let me know! If you'd like to check out the Cassette Idols, CLICK HERE.
